Richard Evans grew up in Hastings. He began his poetry career young, reading at The National Poetry Festival at the age of eleven, and printing his first book in the same year. He has been published in many magazines and anthologies, including Fire, Exile, Unica, Write Here Write Now, Breathe, Forward Press and The Egg Box. He attended the prestigious creative writing course, established by Malcolm Bradbury, at the University of East Anglia.

Camilla Stapleton-Hibbert, whose photographs appear in Richard's book, was tipped as one of the most talented photographers of her generation and had many photographs exhibited and published. She was enrolled in the world-renowned photography course in Falmouth, and was an apprentice to the photographer Steve Pike. Sadly, Camilla took her own life on November 8, 2003.
